Mission
Our mission is to promote pride and connection to African culture through education and research and to develop a network of donors to provide financial support for African birthright journeys.

Goals

Our goals are to study attitudes and opinions regarding African birthright journeys, to provide education about the continent of Africa and to encourage and provide birthright trips for people of African heritage.

Research -

At the Institute, we recognize that one of the biggest barriers to having a successful African birthright experience is the fact that many of African heritage do not have adequate or truthful knowledge about the continent. In order to design educational programs and encourage birthright journeys, we must first understand and address current attitudes and opinions that might impede our success.

Education -

We will develop educational programs that encourage students and their families to get to know and appreciate African history, culture and traditions. We will focus on youth education, as we strongly believe that early education will allow children of African descent an opportunity to grow up with knowledge of and pride in their heritage as descendants of the cradle of civilization.

Our educational programs will focus on African history, present day Africa and the African diaspora.

Birthright Journeys -

Lastly, we encourage and support  individual and family birthright trips and endeavor to raise money to help defray the cost of such trips. To this end, we accept donations so that we can offer free African birthright trips to people of African heritage between the ages of 18 and 32 and reduced price journeys for people who are 33 and older.

Vision

African Birthright.org will be instrumental in supporting millions of free African birthright journeys.
